Salah hopeful of making World Cup opener for Egypt

The Real Madrid defender was criticised heavily for his role in the incident, which threw the Liverpool forward's World Cup participation into doubt.

Ramos was also widely condemned for his part in the injury with a petition set up urging UEFA to punish the centre-back receiving over 300,000 signatures.

Salah replied to that explanation saying: "It's amusing".

"He grabbed my arm first and I fell to the other side, the injury happened to the other arm and they said that I gave him a judo hold", stated Ramos.

"Yes, it was", he added.

After saying his recovery is going well, Salah remembers "when I hit the floor, there was a mix of physical pain and worry". Also anger and sadness for not being able to continue playing the Champions League final.

"I promise you, I will do my best to be ready for the World Cup and to achieve the Egyptian dream", Salah told Sisi on Saturday at an event to mark the team's departure to Russian Federation, according to football media outlet Goal.

Medical scans revealed that Salah would be sidelined for three weeks at least, but the player, who has since completed a rehabilitation programme in Spain, is hopeful he will make Egypt's World Cup opener against Uruguay on 16 June.

An inspired first-half performance from Chelsea's Eden Hazard guided England's World Cup opponents Belgium to a friendly victory over Egypt. And it was something we all said: "wow, we have to do it, we have to do it".

"Now I'm better, though", he added.

When asked if he is feeling pressure from fans due to the huge responsibility laid on him, he said: "The pressure was to qualify for the World Cup. We managed to take control of the match and scored an early goal which made things easier for ourselves", Hazard told ON Sport. Of course, someone can now say "ok, we've qualified, that's it".

Now, Chelsea FC star Hazard has admitted that he wants to see his "friend" Salah make a quick recovery and be able to feature for his team in Russian Federation this summer. "That doesn't go through my head", he said.
