Iran's Rouhani criticizes USA 'unilateralism' over nuclear deal

On the June 12 summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korea leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore, Bloomberg reported Mr Putin said both Russian Federation and China agreed on the need for peace on the Korean Peninsula.

"I agree with him, and to have a meaningful discussion, our ministries of foreign affairs and experts should get involved and work closely together, and of course a meeting in person is necessary", Putin said.

Putin told reporters in Qingdao, China, that the group's statement that accused Russia of destabilizing actions was based on a "shaky" foundation, as were allegations of Russian involvement in the poisoning of ex-Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter.

"It's true", Putin said.

The U.S. leader has repeatedly said he wants to improve relationships with Moscow.

The last meeting between Trump and Putin was a brief exchange in Vietnam last November.

Putin also welcomed Trump's statement that Russian Federation should be invited to rejoin the group that was called the G8 before others expelled Russian Federation. The bloc includes China, Russia, four ex-Soviet Central Asian nations, India and Pakistan.

Rouhani said the U.S. was monitoring the global reaction to its withdrawal from the nuclear deal, and a weak response would encourage it to carry on acting unilaterally.

"Myself and President Putin agreed, in the face of a complex global situation, that China and Russian Federation will increase mutual support and coordination in worldwide affairs, and deepen strategic cooperation".

"China's "highest honor" is bestowed on foreigners who have made" outstanding contributions" to the country's modernization drive and helped maintain world peace, Xi said.

Lauding the USA president's efforts in the global scene, Putin said that Trump's actions, though frequently criticized in his own country, are "constructive".

Russia's President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani met Saturday to discuss regional issues including both countries' involvement in the Syrian civil war and the United States withdrawal from a landmark nuclear deal with Iran.

"As far as I know, the USA president has stated that the United States is considering the possibility of additional regulation of deliveries of the automotive vehicles to the U.S. market".

China is willing to work with the other SCO member states, including Russian Federation, to take the Qingdao summit as an opportunity to further carry forward the "Shanghai Spirit" and ensure the healthy and stable development of the SCO, Xi noted.

"At any rate, we are ready for this", Putin said Thursday in an interview published Saturday, according to the New York Daily News.

Xi and Putin and others pledged their support of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal from which President Donald Trump withdrew the US last month.
