Germany vs Mexico, Live Streaming India, IST time: When & where to watch

Germany lost their opening match at a World Cup for only the second time, also doing so in 1982 against Algeria; they went on to reach the final that year.

Mexico's Hirving Lozano provided the upset of the tournament so far when his first-half goal put world champions Germany behind in their opening game of the tournament.

Hirving Lozano's first-half goal and some hard work on defense led to what may be the biggest win in Mexico soccer history and the first major upheaval of the 2018 World Cup. They and millions back home have one wish, a demand really: for Mexico to play that "quinto partido", the fifth game of a World Cup.

Germany's midfielder Mesut Ozil gestures as he sits on the field during their 2018 World Cup Group F match against Mexico at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on June 17, 2018.

The atmosphere was vibrant in Moscow ahead of the Germany-Mexico match later on Sunday.

"I am very satisfied, this is very important for the future of Mexican football.we will celebrate responsibly, recover well and plan for the next match", he said.

Mexico supporters outnumbered Germany fans at the Luzhniki Stadium and made nearly all of the noise, roaring their team forward.

Paez described the game as a welcome distraction from Mexico's upcoming July 1 presidential election.

Germany coach Joachim Loew, meanwhile, criticised his side for playing badly in the first half.

Osorio beefed up his defences to hang on, pulling off Lozano and then, with a quarter of an hour left, sending in 39-year-old Rafael Marquez at the back to become the third man ever to play in five World Cups.

"We always thought of having two quick players on the wing", Osorio said in his post-match press conference.

"Despite whatever he does in this World Cup, I don't know if he's going to keep the job", said Mexican goalkeeper and Fox analyst Moises Munoz.

Die Mannschaft face South Korea and Sweden next.

"After this score we can say that this generation of players is here to achieve big things".

Elsewhere Manuel Neuer continues his road to recovery after featuring in his first game for eight months against Austria earlier this month, and he makes the final cut for Germany, starting between the sticks in his 77th appearance for the national side.
