Brazil goalkeeper Alisson makes Liverpool switch

Press Association Sport understands Liverpool have agreed to meet Roma's valuation of 75 million euros (approximately £67m) for Alisson, a figure which would make the 25-year-old Brazil worldwide the most expensive goalkeeper in history.

The Brazilian keeper featured for AS Roma when they faced Liverpool in the Champions League semi-final.

They report that the Reds reached an agreement with Alisson back in November and the player has been waiting for a fee to be agreed with Roma.

Liverpool are expected to complete a flurry of outgoings in the coming days, following their world-record deal to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson.

There was a world-class goalkeeper on the market, and the club gave us the opportunity to sign him. The league is different, the refs are different, the goalkeeper life is different in the Premier League.

Roma's sporting director Monchi said the Italian club were reluctant to part with Alisson but that the offer from Liverpool was too good to turn down.

A former England global footballer and manager, John Barnes has said that Mohamed Salah could leave Liverpool despite signing new contract.

"The full package is just good", he told the club's official website.

Pickford began his career with his local side Sunderland, where he impressed with a string of superb performances during the 2016/17 season, despite the Black Cats ultimately suffering relegation from the Premier League. "When you make an important decision like this it's not just a decision to change clubs, it practically changes your entire life, my family's life, my wife, my daughter", he said.

Liverpool were the only club to score against him in the Champions League at the Stadio Olimpico last season, striking twice in a 4-2 semifinal defeat but progressing to the final.

Wife of Brazil's goalkeeper Alisson Becker has taken to her Instagram page to celebrate her beau's incredible move to Liverpool.

"That game definitely did have an influence but I also watched other games".

However, Klopp did warn Liverpool fans Alisson may need some time to adapt to the Premier League - though is excited about the prospects.

'I'm sorry that we've lost one of the best goalkeepers in the world, but we'll try to build a strong team regardless'. I want to have them desperately but the season is really long.
