Benintendi, the first player with four hits and three runs in a World Series debut, said the Red Sox came in with a plan on how to handle Kershaw.
"I've held true to my loves, passions, beliefs, and faith in a world desperate to make people abandon all of them", he wrote.
Games 3 and 4 are slated for Dodger Stadium on Friday and Saturday nights.
Of course, by Sunday the Dodgers could be cheating to find the answer to four across in that crossword puzzle on the first day of the offseason. Price went six frames, allowing two runs off three hits. Joe Kelly took over in the seventh and worked a flawless frame in which he fanned two of three. He then gave up consecutive singles to Christian Vazquez and Mookie Betts and walked Andrew Benintendi.
That was Madson's first run, and a deep single from J.D. Martinez brought in the next two.
The Red Sox entered Wednesday batting.405 with a 1.335 OPS with two outs and runners in scoring position, getting 29 runs out of those situations.
Price followed the sacrifice fly by blowing a 93-mph fastball by Kike Hernandez on a 3-2 pitch for the second out.
Price was locked in again against the Dodgers, striking out five in six innings as Boston took a 2-0 series lead.
Price got ahead of Barnes, 0-2, and put him away with a 94-mph heater that Barnes looked overmatched flailing at it. It marked the first two games in World Series history that a team used an all right-handed lineup.
While David Ortiz, Pedro Martinez, Kevin Millar, Jason Varitek, Tim Wakefield, Keith Foulke, and Alan Embree are all expected to participate, Schilling, who memorably donned a bloody sock during his legendary victory in Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS while helping to propel the Red Sox past the New York Yankees, said he wasn't invited. First, though, a little perspective: Pinning the Dodgers' 4-2 loss in Game 2 on Roberts' decision to summon Ryan Madson would be nearly laughable, considering the team went 3-for-5 in the one inning it scored Wednesday night and 0-for-24 in all the others. Kinsler tested Chris Taylor's throwing arm and was the final out at third base which violates the baserunning rule that the final out of an inning can't be recorded at third.
