Kelly Clarkson is reportedly being approached by NBC to be Megyn Kelly's replacement. This reported decision comes just 48 hours after she received enormous backlash for her racist defense on Megyn Kelly Today.
But of course, Megyn Kelly wouldn't care about that, because she has a long history of saying really bad race-related things, saying sexist things when it was convenient to do so (i.e. when it wasn't about her or her experiences), and the occasional dash of homophobia. Audiences were equally unexcited about Megyn Kelly Today. "Because you do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface on Halloween, or a black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween".
She said it was acceptable when she was a kid when portraying a character. While he walked with his fellow co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin during Today's 7 a.m. hour, Roker blasted Kelly's comments.
"Well, we got a nice preview of the outrage this year with all the tantrums that NBC News" Megyn Kelly has caused with an admittedly tone-deaf but overall harmless opinion on "Megyn Kelly Today, ' during what should have been a civil conversation between four adults", Glenn said. NBC shut that request down.
Regardless of her employment status, Kelly will reportedly be paid her entire $69 million contract. Megyn is barely one year into a massive three-year contract, and she was arguably fired for cause.
Kelly's NBC show has been on thin ice lately after receiving consistently low ratings. I texted her at the time and she apologized", he said, before adding, "I think I was a good husband. In 2015, Dr. Kendall spoke to the Daily Mail Online and denied ever being unfaithful to his ex-wife. "Everyone's being told that they still have a home here, but it won't be on Megyn's show", one source said.
Political analysts have noted Kelly's career has been on a steady decline since she attacked then-candidate Donald Trump during the 2016 election.
"They're contacting the staff and reassigning everyone today".
Kelly jumped from Fox News Channel to NBC in early 2017, but it hasn't been a comfortable fit.
She met with NBC executives within the past month about dissatisfaction with the show's direction, according to a person close to Kelly who spoke on condition of anonymity in order to discuss personnel matters.
NBC representatives said they had no comment beyond the discussion of why Kelly wasn't on the air Thursday. Another insider says UTA suggested Kelly should be represented by Freedman, as a lawyer would better fit her needs rather than an agent.
