Whatever this new adventure mode is for Super Smash Bros. Additionally, a new trailer of the game was released, showcasing a hint of the backstory for the game's new story mode dubbed, "World of Light".
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out December 7 on Nintendo Switch.
A third character was also announced in the form of a Piranha Planet (who transforms into Petey Piranha as his Final Smash) but he's a pre-order bonus and won't be available until a few months after the game's release.
Ken from Street Fighter is an echo fighter of Ryu, while Incineroar from Pokémon Sun/Moon is a brand-new character with a lot of wrestling moves. The presentation also touched upon more Assist Trophies.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate combines many stages and new items, with gameplay that makes it easy for players of all skill levels to jump in. People were anxious that Ultimate was "just a port" but this is looking like the biggest Smash game yet by a huge margin: and I'm not even factoring the roster in at this point. But it does contain a Mii Fighter outfit, and Xenoblade Spirits and music from the Xenoblade Chronicles. The Nintendo Online phone app will allow for voice chat, and a new app called Smash World will launch sometime after the game, which will focus on players sharing fun gameplay moments. As a result, Nintendo didn't confirm what any of the DLC actually is. Interestingly enough, the Big N is also offering players the chance to get a special character as free DLC for buying the title within a certain span of time. That would be Piranha Plant, the polka-dotted pipe dweller that subsists on a steady diet of clumsy plumbers.
