Rain & Snow Forecasted for Area

A huge area of high pressure across northern Europe, a huge area of low pressure in the mid-Atlantic and the United Kingdom is stuck in between.

Mostly cloudy tonight with lows in the mid to upper 20s.

Tonight is expected to be largely cloudy and breezy, with outbreaks of rain for Wales, northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, some of which will be heavy. Rain develops later in the afternoon and stays with us through Tuesday. Even in the southern Poconos, where the lowest temperatures are anticipated, it's likely to be an all rain event as temperatures stabilize and increase after midnight. Low: 25. Wind: N/NW 5 miles per hour. We will stay mostly cloudy and wind will be from the north at 10-15 miles per hour. Highs on Monday and Tuesday will be in the mid-40s.

WEDNESDAY: Morning hard freeze, then sunny and cold.

Meteorologists say fair weather is expected to settle back across our part of the country Tuesday night through Wednesday night.

The shift to chillier conditions will really be felt by the middle of next week, with some forecast models are suggesting harsh frosts and the likelihood of wintry showers, but claims of a new Beast from the East hitting the United Kingdom are exaggerated.

Tuesday evening, additional snow showers are likely, mainly before 9:00 p.m. with less than a half inch of snow expected. Low: 38. High: 64. Friday night, lows will drop down into the middle and upper 30's.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 34. Roads are dry to damp with little to no weather related issues for the morning rush hour. Mostly sunny Sunday with highs again in the mid-30s.
