Elneny present in Arsenal squad for Napoli trip

Lifting the Europa League would ensure Champions League qualification for next season, but the Gunners took a big step towards qualifying through league position after beating 10-man Watford earlier this week.

In a seminal week for Arsenal's hopes in the Premier League and on the continent, they travel to Naples, in the foothills of Mount Vesuvius, hoping to avoid a seismic shock of their own.

Arsenal have set up firmly to control their 2-0 lead over Napoli in their Europa League quarterfinal second leg. Unai Emery has made five changes to the team that narrowly secured a victory over Watford on Monday.

Napoli will need to score four times in their San Paolo Stadium if Emery's side, who won 2-0 in last week's first leg, are able to break through the Italian team's defence.

"We know what we did wrong and that we're going to have to raise our level if we want to advance", he said.

In the end, the Gunners had done enough to rack up the points to go back into fourth spot, although they remain level on points with fifth-placed Chelsea.

The Greek centre-back has grown into one of Arsenal's most impressive performers in his first season since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund.

But Xhaka believes points are more important than performances after a rare away win, adding: 'I don't care if we win 1-0 or 6-0, it is three points.

It didn't get any better for the home side a minute later, with Troy Deeney handed a straight red following an off-the-ball scuffle with Lucas Torreira.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the only goal of the game as the Gunners finally kept a clean sheet on the road. I would abandon the goalkeeper getting it and playing it around at the back. "Tomorrow we have to play like the game is 0-0".

With big games coming every few days, Emery was able to welcome back Switzerland global Granit Xhaka for his first club appearance in over a month. "It is a different competition -we have a two-goal advantage against Napoli but it is going to be very hard".

"I don't think this will affect us at all", he told watfordfc.com.

Here, we look at how that race is shaping up.
