'Avengers: Endgame' zooms past Rs 150 cr in India

With the combined global take of $2.3 billion from those two movies, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now almost a $20 billion franchise - with "Spider-Man: Far From Home" still coming this summer. The weekend as a whole is estimated at $350 million, which makes it - per Disney's eager press release breaking down everything but the inevitable popcorn shortage - the first film to ever make $300 million on opening weekend.
Now, Endgame has shattered all box office records with its global opening weekend. Earlier, its $107.8 million opening made a record too. "Avengers: Endgame" took in a domestic record of $156.7 million on its first day, including Thursday night previews, beating the previous mark of $119 million held by "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in 2015.
According to numbers from Box Office Mojo, Avengers: Endgame gobbled up $350 million in the U.S. during its opening weekend run and $28.5 million in Canada. Avengers: Endgame is the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), an unprecedented collection of interconnected films, all of which have opened No. 1 domestically. It also saw North America's biggest opening weekend ever.
Box Office Mojo's charts also list Avengers: Endgame as the theater averages - wide opening weekends adjusted as well as the opening weekends adjusted - April, opening weekends adjusted, opening weekends adjusted - Spring, aaaaand rated PG-13, opening weekends adjusted. The gross box office collection of the Endgame is huge Rs 187.14 crore and it is moving towards Rs 150 crore in its opening weekend. Avengers Endgame is the most recent movie to have fallen as one of the victims of piracy.
Avengers: Endgame is proving to be a cinematic moment in history not only in terms of filmmaking, but in its box office reach, as well. The Russo Brothers' directorial venture, which stars the ensemble cast of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland and Chadwick Boseman has made several records in India and here are a few of them. Endgame now holds a 96 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
