Mbappe hints at move away from PSG

The French World Cup victor dropped the transfer revelation on Sunday night after receiving the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award. However it is understood that talks have already taken place with PSG to improve and lengthen his current contract.

"I feel that it is time for me to have more responsibility", he said at the awards gala, as per The Guardian. The French side are anxious to play down the words from the player as he collected his Player of the Year award last night where he made reference to a "new project".

PSG emerged Ligue 1 champions with six games to the end of the season but were sent packing from the Champions League in the last-16 by Man United. "I am truly very happy", Kylian Mbappe said during his acceptance speech at the UNFP Awards in Paris.

However, PSG have reacted strongly to the attacker's comments and declared Mbappe will remain with the club next season in order to potentially make the club's 50th anniversary a campaign to remember. "When you are in such an occasion you can send messages, I think I have sent mine", Mbappe replied to reporters.

"It's a turning point, it was the moment to say it", Mbappé was reported stating in L'Equipe on Monday.

The 20-year-old backed up his excellent 2018 World Cup, where he scored four times as France won the trophy, by netting 38 times for PSG this season.

Will Mbappe actually leave PSG this summer?

Reports have suggested that PSG, should they have opted to sell, could command as much as €300 million for the World Cup victor - a fee that would end the club's Financial Fair Play worries.

A Mbappe exit would be a blow for PSG, although increased transfer funds may not be all bad for the French champions as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of their next bid for a first Champions League title.
