Ridley: (Director J.J. Abrams) did say the question is answered.
Ridley said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, and reported by Collider, that she met with Trevorrow at an event where she asked him about what happened.
Disney opens "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" in theaters nationwide December 20.
Actress Daisy Ridley appears at the "Star Wars: Episode IX" panel presentation at the 2019 Star Wars Celebration on April 12, 2019 in Chicago, Illinois.
Who are Rey's parents?
'Genre-wise, it's different from the other two, which will become clear when the film comes out. Everyone's going to have an opinion now anyway on the Internet, but I also think it's fair. I really missed John [Boyega] during the last one, but we're back together and now Oscar [Isaac] is part of it. Directed by Rian Johnson, "The Last Jedi' had received criticism from fans for killing a key character of the franchise and also for its story".
"Ultimately, Rian's a filmmaker and one person can't dictate how a film is supposed to be", Ridley said, "but freedom of expression, sure".
And how does The Rise of Skywalker compare to The Last Jedi?
Abrams has previously fuelled speculation about Rey's past, telling Good Morning America: "I will say there is more to the story (of Rey's parentage) than you've seen".
"He was Josh [Gad's] guest at [the] Murder on the Orient Express [premiere] and we went for dinner afterwards, and Colin sat next to me and I was like, 'What's this gonna be like?' Because all I had heard-I didn't know what had happened, I just knew that he wasn't doing it anymore". There's like a dolly shot coming through and it ends with me and I think I was fighting James at the time, who's the stuntman with the two swords.
Star Wars' fans are eagerly waiting for the next movie in line, which is Star War: The Rise of Skywalker and the wait is going to end soon.
